Founded in 1985, the Museum of the San Ramon Valley preserves and interprets the history of the valley through exhibits, tours, archival collections, and special programs for the public and students. Its collections reflect the human experiences, institutions, and cultures that were shaped by the valley's landscape, environment, and early settlers.
Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made in America” features reproduction artifacts from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. This exhibit examines Lincoln’s life from his frontier beginnings to his ascension to the presidency. Seven learning stations reproduce original documents, artifacts, photographs, pamphlets and newspapers drawn from the Presidential Library’s 50,000 Lincoln-related items. The exhibit will include videos, re-enactors and special public programs

Home to a permanent exhibit of artifacts and pictures from the valley's past, the Museum also sponsors revolving exhibits and several guided tours of historic sites including the Alamo Cemetery and Old Town Danville. During your visit, be sure to stop by the Museum Store where you’ll find books with historic themes and unique gifts for both adults and children. The Museum is housed in the restored 1891 Southern Pacific Depot near the heart of Old Town, at the corner of Railroad and Prospect Avenues. Parking is available behind the Museum and across the corner in the Clock Tower Parking Lot.
